Golden Jubilee Anniversary of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel

The Order of the Ministers of the Infirm (USA Camillians) congratulates the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its founding in the United States in 1973 (State of Wisconsin, 2017).
As a Religious Brother in the USA Camillian Community with personal experience of their care, I admire and feel truly blessed to experience the Sisters’ prayerful presence and their dynamic ministry of serving the sick and elderly that had a calming effect on all residents.
I believe as a Religious Brother that their faith life of “Contemplative Prayer” and the Liturgy of the Eucharist inspires them to an “Action” ministry consecrated to God.
The professional nursing skills and competency of the Sisters help serve the People of God through holistic healing of their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, the latter through a visible and active Pastoral Care Sister. Their gifts of mercy, love, and compassion were basic core values that instilled feelings of peace, consolation, and a real sense of hope knowing that God is always with them despite the most difficult moments in their lives.
Our healthcare facilities are blessed by their contagious smiles enhancing the mood in all areas of care. Many family members of our residents have shared with me that they were grateful for the care their loved ones received from the Religious Sisters.
The USA Camillians are very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Religious Sisters. They bring fresh expressions of community life, joy, and the fruits of contemplative prayer and an active ministry. This relationship and their ministry has enriched our healthcare facilities to better serve the People of God at St. Camillus. The mission goal of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel simply stated is TO BE HOLY AND LEAD OTHERS TO HOLINESS.
